No Amount Of Hatred Will Erase Buhari’s Achievements – Lai Mohammed

The minister made the observation at the opening of the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC)' Annual Lecture and 25th Anniversary of creation of the Commission.

Mohammed said that contrary to the impression being created by purveyors of hate speech and fake news, the Buhari Administration had, in a short time, recorded solid achievements under a most difficult situation.

He said despite operating with just 45 per cent of the funds available to the immediate past administration due largely to the fall in prices of oil, the Buhari government had achieved tremendously.

The minister said that it was as a result of the efficient leadership of Buhari that Nigeria had not witnessed economic and social crises like other oil dependent nations.

"A country that has consistently produced more oil than Nigeria, despite having about one sixth of the Nigerian population, is today embroiled in the worst economic crisis in its history.

"There is shortage of food, medicine and everything, and there is hyper-inflation.

"With Nigeria being affected by the same downturn in oil prices, coupled with years of monumental mismanagement of the country's economy and the mindless and maddening looting of its treasury by rapacious public officials, why is Nigeria not in similar crisis as the country in question?

"My answer is simple: Because Nigeria has a President like Muhammadu Buhari!;'' he said.

Specifically, the minister said that the Buhari government had brought transparency to governance, laying a solid foundation for the country's economic recovery and growth through the Treasury Single Account (TSA) and other economic policies.

"Does anyone remember the scandalous fuel subsidies that failed to deliver fuel to filling stations? What about the fertiliser subsidies that never guaranteed the availability of fertiliser to farmers? Today, fuel queues are gone with the phantom fuel subsidies.

"Also, thanks to the resuscitation of 11 of the country's moribund fertiliser blending plants, fertiliser is now available to farmers nationwide.

"In fact, 6 million bags of fertilisers have been delivered at 30 per cent below the market price, 50,000 jobs created and N50 billion saved with the stopping of fertiliser subsidy.

Mohammed said that despite paucity of funds, the Federal Government's Social Investment Programmes were being implemented, creating jobs for youths and providing nutritious food for school children.

He said the Micro-credit scheme of the programmes was providing over a million Nigerians with small loans at very low rates through the Bank of Industry.

The minister said that despite the cowardly bombing of soft targets, Boko Haram insurgency was not in resurgence.

He said that the Nigerian troops were up to the task of ensuring that there was no resurgence of Boko Haram.

The minister said that the government is also delivering on critical infrastructure like roads and railways.

"Contractors are back to work on roads across the six geo-political zones, helping to recover lost jobs and put some money back in circulation, as part of government's strategy to come out of this recession,'' he said.

He solicited the support of all Nigerians to enable the country to assume its rightful place in the comity of nations and make life more bearable for every citizen.

ASUU React To The Reduction Of JAMB Cut Off Mark.

Mixed reactions have followed the reduction of the cut-off mark for 2017/2018 admission into tertiary institutions.

Although, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has said the decision was made by stakeholders in the education system; in reaction, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Thursday, scolded the Federal Government for making such a "sad policy".

From Chairman, ASUU, University of Ibadan, Deji Omole:

The President Muhammadu Buhari-led FG is trying to destroy education in Nigeria. The Ishaq Oloyede-led Jamb has presided over illegality, to favour the interests of the friends of government who own private universities."It is sad that the present administration's dream was to destroy education in Nigeria."

"We are watching because long before now we have said that JAMB has outlived its usefulness.""This is not setting a standard for education in Nigeria.

It is purely lowering standards and digging a grave for the future."

Boy Rescued After Being Tied To A Tree By Granddad For 5 Years

Photos have shown the moment a little boy's shocking nightmare comes to an end as he was rescued after being tied up alongside cattle for five years.

According to The Sun UK, Umesh, eight, is visually impaired and mentally disabled, but as if this was not bad enough he was also bound by his grandma because he was naughty.

Both his dad Bhagawati Lal and mum Manu Devi, died of the HIV five years ago and Umesh went to live with his grandparents in Udaipur, in Rajasthan.

But gran Peepi Bai, 75, allegedly decided to keep him tied with a rope in the cow stable because the little lad is violent and used to run away.

She said: "Umesh was a normal child till he was three.

"But after his parents died he started behaving differently. We don't earn enough money to get him treatment."

Mrs Bai added: "He's sometimes violent and leaves home without anyone knowing.

"We are old and cannot run around looking for him. And so we have to keep him tied up."

Elsewhere in the same city, Jiva Ram, 11, from Baydi village in Udaipur, also suffered from polio and mental breakdowns.

He was tied to a tree outside his house by his dad Hurma Ram, 35, a farmer, before he went out to work in his farm.

He said: "He had harmed himself in the past. To avoid any problems we had to keep him tied."

Both the boys are now free and been taken to a shelter home.

Bhojraj Singh, Aasra Vikas Sansthan child welfare charity founder, said he was shocked to find them tied to a tree like animals.

He said: "It was heartbreaking. We were shocked to see the condition in which both children were found.

"Javi was found unclad while one of his legs was tied to a tree, whereas Umesh was tied to a bamboo pole, among the cattle.

"Both the boys have been shifted to a shelter home where they will be taken good care of.

"We shall start their treatment and help them grow into good human beings."

Let’s Sit Down And Discuss Nigeria’s Future – Sultan Of Sokoto Talks Restructuring

Sultan of Sokoto Sa'ad Abubakar III said yesterday that there is the need to sit down and discuss how to make Nigeria better while speaking on restructuring at the colloquium organised Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).

The Sultan said while groups from all over the country were agitating for one thing or the other, nobody had the right to ask others to leave any part of the country despite the glaring realities.

He said: "When people talk about restructuring, if they mean we should disintegrate the country, I will not support it. But if it means making things and lives better and much conducive and convenient for Nigerians, then lets sit down and discuss about it.

"I know that many of these groups from the North, West, South-South and South East agitating for this or that have their positions. But despite the realities at present, no group has the right to tell anybody you must leave this place or that place if we still live in this country called Nigeria.

"And I support the President's position 100 per cent, I believe what he said is right.

"And I say, instead of talking about devolution of power, let's talk about devolution of economy.

"It is good to sit down and dialogue, but there must be respect. I must respect you and you must respect me. And the greatest thing we can do for this country is to always reflect on our history. We didn't fall from the sky, but came from somewhere.

"We became Nigeria in 1914 through amalgamation. People are shouting that our coming together as a country in 1914 was a mistake, but God doesn't make mistakes. If God doesn't want such a thing as Nigeria to happen, nobody could ever have made it happen.

"So we claim to be very religious, but we challenge God, you don't come out in the open and say you are challenging God, but by actions and utterances, many people are virtually challenging God. There is no wrong in you saying I want to be better than I am.

"But when you sit down and discuss issues, you find out that you are a much better person. It is important for us to use this forum to bring out issues that are really gemming, very important at this time in the history of our country.

"I expected the organised labour to have been at the forefront of some of the issues affecting this country long before now. Not through strike, even though strike would be the last option, but there are things we need to take much more seriously and make our lives much better.

"And I also know that at the 2014 National Conference, some things were discussed though some people now said that conference was politically motivated and whatever. But whatever happens or anyone may say, Nigerians came together and discussed."

President of the Nigeria Labour Congress Comrade Ayuba Wabba said since the debate on restructuring started, many people had referred to it in different ways saying "For some, it means resource control component of fiscal federalism. Yet other groups see restructuring as increased access to political and economic resources and institutions of governance.

"The discourse among the political elite in our country in the last few months has been so heated that suddenly many involved in this debate have thrown caution, decency and decorum to the winds, and threats and counter threats, all having grave consequences for our cooporate existence as a nation, have become the order of the day.
"Since the outset of this latest stage of our political discourse, both the proponents and the opponents appear to be gravitating towards ''restructuring''. For some it means resource control component of fiscal federalism. Yet other groups see restructuring as increased access to political and economic resources and institutions of governance.

"Our inability to ensure that the rich resources this nation has been blessed with is administered in a way to benefit the vast majority of Nigerians has been at the centre of our crisis. In this respect, any effort to seek to be sustainable in addressing our recurring p

Charly Boy To Hit The Streets To Protest For Diezani Alison-Madueke’s Extradition

Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, will on Monday lead a protest to the headquarters of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Abuja to demand the extradition of Diezani Alison-Madueke, former petroleum minister, from the UK to Nigeria.

The entertainer disclosed this in a statement signed by him and Deji Adeyanju on Thursday.

A few days ago, he led a series of protests to demand that President Muhammadu Buhari either resume office or resign.

In one of the protests, his group – Our Mumu Don Do – was attacked by hoodlums at Wuse market in the federal capital territory.

Alison-Madueke has been linked to several corruption cases in Nigeria. Some pieces of property she allegedly owned have also been seized by the government.

But the former minister insists that she has no case to answer and that the pieces of property linked to her were not hers.

"Following recent mind-boggling allegations of corruption and wanton looting of public funds and the collective patrimony of Nigerian citizens by the former minister for petroleum, Mrs Diezani Alison-Madueke, we call on the Economic & Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to apply for her extradition from the United Kingdom to face prosecution in Nigeria," Charly Boy said in the statement.

"Furthermore, a federal high court has ordered Mrs Alison-Madueke to permanently forfeit several luxurious properties in several high brow areas across the country to the federal government.

"It is therefore unimaginable that the federal government is not pushing for Mrs Alison-Madueke's extradition to face punishment for her alleged crimes.

"In this light, we will be holding a two-day sit out in front of the EFCC headquarters to demand that the federal government applies for her extradition and prosecution in Nigeria."

Defeat Me With Superiority Of Your Argument Not With AK47 – Nnamdi Kanu To PMB

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to come up with a better argument in the "debate for freedom".

Kanu said this on Wednesday in Abia state while reacting to Buhari's marching order to security agencies to tackle the excesses of secessionist groups, including IPOB.

The president had also discussed the issue of IPOB – among other "security threats" – with service chiefs during a meeting on Tuesday.

But Kanu faulted claims that IPOB is a violent group.

While stating that the "recourse to brute force to solve national problems would never work," the IPOB leader said the people must not be "railroaded into succumbing to intimidation".

"In this debate for freedom, everybody has to be heard. Buhari should defeat me with the superiority of his argument not AK 47," he said.

"Some people quickly recourse to violence, hate and intimidation because they have lost the force of argument.

"It is the continuation of Buhari's dictatorial and unwholesomely undemocratic approach to governance. I find it unacceptable and insulting that somebody elected by the people can turn around and dictate to them how he wants them to behave."

Kanu added that the group would never resort to violence in its quest for a sovereign state of Biafra.

"There is no need for people to be afraid of the internal operations of the IPOB. We will never ever resort to armed violence or armed conflict of any sort," he said.

"I will not do anything that will bring dishonour or shame to our people and if I do it, IPOB will never be violent, we will never be armed."

JAMB : How Cut-off Marks Were Fixed – Registrar

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, spoke to reporters yesterday, insisting that stakeholders in the sector unanimously agreed that the minimum cut-off marks for the university degree for the 2017 academic year be put at 120, lower than the previous years, which stood at 180.

He allayed fears that the development might further lower Nigeria's education standard.

He stated that besides the board recommending cut-off marks for universities, polytechnics and colleges of education as well as monotechnics, individual institutions could raise their admission benchmark higher but not above 180 and below 120 for universities.

He said, "With this decision, universities are not to go below the minimum 120 cut-off points adopted by the meeting for admissions.

"What JAMB did was a recommendation, we only determined the minimum, whatever the various institutions determine as their admission cut-off mark is their decisions.

"The Senate and academic boards of universities should be allowed to determine their cut-off marks."

Afe Babalola Rejects 120 Cut-off Mark For Nigerian Universities

He described the reduction as violence to the university system and a major setback to quality education in the country.

Recall that that the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board had on announced on Tuesday the reduction of cut-off marks for candidates seeking admission into Nigerian universities to 120 and 100 for polytechnics and colleges of education in the country.

But Babalola, in a statement, said he was worried that the decision was taken without due consideration for its implication on the quality of education in Nigerian tertiary institutions.

"What is the whole essence of reducing cut-off marks for admission to as low as 120 for universities and 100 for polytechnics, monotechnics and colleges of education? Will such an action enhance or reduce the quality of education?

"Will it give international recognition to the degrees awarded by the Nigerian universities which, in any case, are already being questioned? Is the reduction a deliberate ploy to make things worse?" Babalola quizzed.

He, therefore, called for an urgent education summit which he suggested should be attended by stakeholders of higher education institutions to address the problems.

The statement read, "Are we now saying there will be no uniform standards in our tertiary education in this country? Is the government or its agencies encouraging double or multiple standards?

"I do hope that those behind this reduction are aware that even candidates who pass the UTME at 180 and above now find it difficult and tasking to get admission into Nigerian universities because there are more qualified candidates than the spaces available and because of the paucity of facilities in the existing universities.

"It must be appreciated that even the former 180 cut-off mark is less than 50 per cent of the total JAMB marks. As I said earlier, a minimum of 50 per cent was regarded and acknowledged as pass mark in elementary schools in those days and now JAMB is recommending 120, a mere 30 per cent of the total score of 400."

But the JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has insisted that pegging the minimum cut-off benchmark for admission at 120 for universities and 100 for polytechnics, will improve access to education.

No Law Says FEC Meeting Must Be Held Every Week – Femi Adesina Defends Buhari

The Senior Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, has defended the President's decision to cancel the FEC meeting, stating that it's not constitutional.

While speaking in a telephone interview on Channels Television's programme, 'Politics Today' on Wednesday in Abuja, the Senior Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari, Femi Adesina, defended the President's decision to cancel the Federal Executive Council Meeting on Wednesday.

We reported earlier that a statement by Adesina in the morning announced the decision but gave no reason for the cancellation of the weekly FEC meeting which would have been the first attended by the President after his return from a more-than-100 days medical vacation.

Speaking to Seun Okinbaloye during the TV programme, the presidential spokesman said there was nothing to Buhari cancelling the FEC meeting and that concerns about its implications were uncalled for.

He said; "There is no law that says the Federal Executive Council meeting should hold every week. There is no law that says it must be weekly. Under a past administration, it used to hold once every two weeks.

"So, there is no law that says it should hold every Wednesday. It depends on what you have on the agenda to discuss. The President is the Chairman of that meeting. So, he has the discretion to hold or not to hold (the meeting)."

President Buhari's decision to cancel the meeting had led to more questions about his fitness to resume work and carry out his duties effectively.

On Tuesday, news that he would be working from home because rodents had damaged items in his office and that it was under renovation caused a stir and went viral on the social media.

But Adesina dismissed the concerns, saying that the President is strong enough to perform his duties and that the office in his home and the one in his office complex were only a short distance apart in any case.

"The fact that FEC does not hold in one week does not mean anything significant because the President has the discretion to hold or not to hold FEC (meetings)," he said.

When asked if the cancellation of Wednesday's meeting meant that FEC would no longer be meeting weekly, he said it wasn't the case, before going on to say that the meeting had not held every week over time in the first case.

"That is not correct. It did not hold every week; when this administration began, it did not hold every week. And right from then, it had been understood that the FEC would hold as often as there are things to discuss," Adesina said.

Had yeasterday's FEC meeting held and the President attended, it would have been the first he would be presiding over in more than three months. Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who was the Acting President while he was away presided over the weekly meeting in his absence.

11 Major Things That Happened While You Are Away – APC Chieftain Writes Open Letter To Buhari

Foremost Benue-born social activist and All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Barrister Franc Utoo, has written an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Utoo informed the president of 11 things that happened while he was on medical vacation in London.

He called on Buhari to sack some of his aides, accusing them of not been loyal to his administration.

He also tasked the president to unite the nation, stressing that there is so much division in the country at the moment.

See the 11 main issues raised by Utoo in the letter below:

1. Mr President, while you were away, your vice, Professor Yemi Osinbajo weathered the storm created by your absence. He held sway to the admiration of Nigerians. He showed deep seated commitment to your cause and exhibited real loyalty. Not the adulterated version of loyalty in this part of the world: that one has to be loyal to a leader no matter how wrong or right he is going, But the truest type of political loyalty which is devotion to, and identification with, a political cause or a political community, its institutions, basic laws, major political ideas, and general policy objectives.

2. Nevertheless, while you were away, the "jackals and hyenas" attempted to form a parallel government. They undermined the presidency led by the acting president. They stunted our growth due to their selfishness. They delayed the implementation of the 2017 budget and sundry state matters.

3. On a general note, while you were away, we witnessed a resurgence of Boko haram killings and abductions. Currently, some UNIMAID lecturers and women are in their custody. IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu has grown hydra headed. Some Northern miscreants (exactly what they are) issued a quit notice to the Igbos in the north. Meaning, my good friends like Barr. Basil Ude (Marshal Prince), Collins 'Maestro' Uma, Dr. Chike Amobi, Chukwudifu Chuboy Mbamali, Dike Chukwumerije, Micheal Malachy Fbi, Akah Chukwunonso Emmanuel, Darlington Onyekwere, Helen Akunwata Chukwu, et al, would be forced to relocate to the East of the Niger by October. Yet no agency of government deemed it fit to prosecute these felons. The armed herdsmen kept striking in many communities without arrest, and Abuja and many major cities are steadily turning to grazing reserves without checks.

4. Sir, while you were away, I was abducted and later arraigned for politically intimidating reasons by some so – called leaders of our party – the APC. Even under the worst days of the PDP, there was no record that any head of their party had caused the arraignment of a staunch stakeholder for politically differing reasons and for criticising their malfeasance. Never. Also, APC lost National Assembly elections in Osun and your state of Katsina. This is an opinion poll on the current measure of our party.

5. While you were away, the biggest bill that would generate thousands of employment and take many youths off the street was finally passed by the National Assembly, amongst many other bills. It is the bill for the establishment of the Nigerian Peace Corps led by the inimitable and indomitable patriot, Dr Dickson Akoh. The other equally important bill already passed is the #NotTooYoungToRun spurred by a movement led by my friend and immediate predecessor as the president of the Student Representative Council of the Nigerian Law School, Abuja (2012), Samson Itodo. I pray you assent to them without hesitation.

6. Charlie Boy and his supporters led a match tagged: #ReturnOrResign, while you were away. Even though some of us disagreed with their approach, we recognised their fundamental rights to dissent (unlike what many of your overzealous supporters think). The altercation in Wuse market was bad and akin to the attack in Charlottsville, Virginia. We have to learn to tolerate opposing views within the realm of democratic tenets.

7. Sir, while you were away, another tranche of Paris Club refund was released. States are still owing workers and pensioners. Insecurity in some states like mine are worsening due to desperate preparations for 2019 that is still in the bosom of the Lord. Naira is still weak against other currencies. Poverty is still rife. Suic*de rates are high. Kidnappings still persists despite the gallant efforts of ACP Abba Kyari and his team. Ali Modu Sheriff has been silenced by the Supreme Court and PDP is trying to bounce back. Ritual killings have also taken a new dimension. School fees and rent are still sky rocketing while salaries remain very low and irregular.

8. Your Excellency, now that you are back, we expect you to immediately call for the holistic implementation of the 2017 budget and table the 2018 budget before the National Assembly by October; sign the Nigerian Peace Corps Bill, that on #NotTooYoungToRun and other bills on your desk; find a political solution to the IPOB demands rather than legal and coercive sticks; Warn the herdsmen to respect the laws of states with anti -open grazing laws; protect the lives and promote the welfare of Nigerians; Listen to those who ask that we (as a country and people) should sit down and talk!

9. Now that you're back, sir, many Nigerians expect Governor Ayo Fayose to live up to his words and commit suic*de. But if he adopts me as his lawyer I'd find the easiest way out for him: suic*de is illegal and sinful. Forgive those who wish you ill and dead. Reprimand those who took advantage of your ill health. Get off some of your aides who have turned to monsters and are used to deceit. The Bible says in Proverbs 29:12 – "If a ruler pays attention to liars, all his advisers will be wicked." Find the fastest way out for those non – performers in your government.

10. Now that you're back, avoid the voice of those who are calling on you to run for 2019. Please, give your health maximum attention. Some of us are close to your family members and would always wish them well. Prepare and mentor leaders who will take over from you and continue with your ideals and values. Nigeria is not short of ready protégés, including my humble self. Sir, with your recent experience in England, please endeavour to finally make health care affordable, sophisticated and available to every single Nigerian, the same way you enjoyed it in the United Kingdom. It is possible!

11. Finally, my president, now that you are back, very importantly, please bring the country together and unite the people. There is so much polarity in the polity and disunity in the land. There is so much disaffection. So much suspicion and bickering. Our politics have become petty, partisan and poisoned. But in truth, we are not as divided as our politics and differences suggests. We are a great people with love in our hearts and with an intense fear of God. The average among us remain our brothers keepers. We are one people, pledging allegiance to the same Constitution and respecting the green colours exemplified on our passports and national flag. We are ready to always stand in brotherhood, as rhymed by our national anthem. We are ready! Lead us to greatness again!

I Stand By My Claim That Buhari Was In Coma On July 6 – Fayose Says

Vanguard reports that Governor Fayose was speaking to leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party at the government office on Wednesday August 23, said he stands by all his claims about the President be in coma on July 6, adding that he has no apology whatsoever for all he has said.

The governor who reiterated his call for President Buhari's resignation, said: "If not for our efforts Buhari wouldn't have returned now. Buhari is sick and tired and even his physical appearance betrayed this and he needs to go home and rest.

"Today, they have cancelled the Federal Executive Council meeting. You cannot hide the truth forever, it will reveal itself someday. You cannot continue to deceive Nigerians. "

"Every word that has come out of my mouth before the President returns, I have no apology for them. President Buhari was indeed in coma and one of those who visited him said his recovery is a miracle that shows that he was indeed very sick. "

"Let Buhari go back to Daura and rest. Don't send him to early grave. Buhari is not old enough to be my father, my mother is older than Buhari, he cannot be my father, he can only be my uncle. I am close to 60. I stand by all I have said about the President. We are glad he is back, but don't over flog him.

"I am not a sycophant and I stand to speak for Nigeria. Somebody must be able to speak on behalf of the poor masses. This was how they deceived us during the time of Yar'Adua. I am not a hypocrite and I will never be one.

"This country deserves a very healthy person. The office of the president is not for a sick man. The president is tired and should be allowed to resign and go and rest. " he said details later. I have said it severally and without apologies. Everything I said when the President was away, I stand by them.

"The president actually went into coma and this was attested to by what one of the governors who visited him when he was abroad said that his recovery was a miracle. When somebody's recovery is a miracle it simply means something very serious happened to the person.

"Since the President himself cannot disclose his health status and also the extent of his ailment, it apparently shows that there is so much to hide.

"Not until civil societies and people like us started making noise. You can't be our president without us knowing what is happening to you. So, for me, the president went to coma July 6. Today, they can come back and organise rallies and all that; they attested to the fact the President recovered by miracle which we are glad about.

"We are happy that he is back but when you look physically look at the President he is physically. You will see that he is emaciated tired and weak. " You don't have to be president at all cost, when you are tired.

"You go home. I don't want to talk about 2019′ but I want to tell you that Nigeria needs a president that is agile and strong.

"The job is too much for an individual that does not have what it takes. It is a common saying that health is wealth. Everything is about health. We wish him well and we want him to recover but the President should throw in the towel, resign and go home.

"You see they said he would come back and resume in his office, he resumed in his office, they said rats have taken over his office! A presidential office, rats took over his office! " Now they said he is working from home, tomorrow, they would say he is coming from bedroom. All these stories are ending up in a make believe.

"In a country where you have so much to do, I am not going to be a sycophant here. I am going to be on the side of the common man, the President is tired. I feel for the president like every other elderly persons, or even people who are not elderly. They could be sick. But when it comes to th e issue of governing a country.

"There is so much responsibility to this and we must equally be able to stand up and say if the president does not have what it takes to continue, he should throw in the towel.

Asked if he would oblige if invited to see Buhari, Fayose said: "I cannot go and greet the president if invited and the reason is that such action would be misinterpreted to be something else.

"So, it is good for me to wish him well from a distant and be able to tell Nigerians the truth" Denying that he ever said he would commit su*icide should Buhari returns home as being speculated in the social media.

He said: "I can't commit su*icide because of an old man. Such are from miscreants on the social media. Let me tell you expressly, why would I commit su*icide?

"I cannot commit su*icide because of my mother. Even if they are burying my mother now, I will cleverly stay away from the grave so that I won't fall into it. I can't commit su*icide because of Buhari. I never said that and will never make such statement.

"Truth is that the pressure from me and many other Nigerians made the president to return home. They have been treating this matter under the table forgetting that the life of a president is an open book that can be read by everybody and anybody.

What I am saying in effect is that it is in the overall interest of everybody that we have a president that is strong enough to do the job," Fayose insisted.

Buhari Is The Worst President Ever – Mike Ozekhome Blasts

Ozekhome said Buhari's presidency carelessly disrespects Nigerians, describing it as the worst since amalgamation by Lord Lugard and his wife, Flora Shaw.

He said: "It is a very shameful and disgraceful statement that emanated from the presidency to the effect that PMB, after a whole 104 days abroad on medical grounds, cannot work from his office because of rats and rodents.

"So, a whole Julius Berger, the German construction giant has to be called in to drive them away and repaint the office!

"This statement further derides and shames Nigeria as a country. Why didn't the same, or similar rodents pursue Obasanjo, Yar'Adua, Jonathan during their presidency?

"There is another mini office at the villa quite different from the official residence and main office. Let Buhari work from there. Let's see our president working, not through still photo shopping. For how long will this government take the Nigerian citizens for a ride and for robots?

"Who told the image makers we are as brainless as they are? Don't they know that lies have expiry date and that propaganda cannot substitute for image making? Goebel was a fantastic World War propagandist, but failed woefully as information minister.

"Let this opaque government of barefaced misinformation, lies, deceit and cluelessness know that its directionlessness and incapacity to govern are hurting this country badly.

"The economy is in horrific tatters, image bald-battered, security shattered, governance mangled and transparency and accountability interred. Nigeria is today more divided, more hate-inebriated, more crisis- ridden and more dangerous precipice-prone than ever before.

"Nigeria is today more derided, more excoriated and more corrupt than it has ever been. Nigeria has never had it so bad since her forced amalgamation on January 1,1914, by imperious Lord Lugard and his wife Flora Lugard", he told Thisday.

I can’t tell if heads will roll- Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo speaks on SGF/NIA probe

Shortly after submitting the report from the investigation committee on the allegations of fraud leveled against suspended Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF, Babachir Lawal and the Director General of the National Intelligence Agency NIA, Ayo Oke, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo who chaired the committee, spoke with state house correspondents. He refused to give any information regarding the suggestions made by the committee, adding that he cannot tell if heads would roll following the recommendations the committee had made in the report.

Babachir was investigated for the alleged irregular contracts he awarded while serving as chairman of the Presidential Initiative for the North East PINE while Oke was investigated for the large sum of foreign exchanged found in an apartment in Ikoyi which the NIA is laying claim to.

Continue to read the transcribed question and answer session Osinbajo had with newsmen after submitting the report...

Q: Your Excellency, you have just submitted a report Nigerians have been eagerly waiting for, to know the details, can you give us a brief of what is contained in your report?

Vice President: No of course not. This is a report which contains recommendations to the President. The fact finding committee as you know and what our terms of reference were, were to find out based on the facts available to us and to find out based on interview of witnesses and what transpired in both cases that were before us. The one involving the Secretary to the Government of the Federation and the one involving the DG NIA. And we have now concluded that and we submitted a full report with recommendations to Mr President. Of course I cannot give you any kind of details because the President has to look at, study the report and then make his own decisions based on that report.

Q: Sir, one thing Nigerians would also want to know is if we are going to get something fair coming out since he is one of you, are you going to look at it from the angle of justice or from the angle of a close friend?

Vice President: Well I think that as you can imagine that we are always fair minded and the whole approach is to ensure that justice is done in all cases. It is in the interest of the government and also in the interest of the nation that things are done properly, that there is due process in anyway.
That's is the proper thing to do and you can be sure that we will do the right thing.

Q: How soon are we going to get the President's report because Nigerians have waited so long for your report? Are we going to wait for another 3 months or can Nigerians expect it soon?
Vice President: All I can say is that we have now submitted a report to Mr President. It is a detailed report, two reports as a matter of fact and Mr President has to study the report and then make decisions.

Q: Sir please give us details?

Vice President: Oh I cannot tell the recommendations. How can I? This is a document which we have just presented to Mr President. He is the one who will read the recommendations, read the facts in the recommendations and then make a judgement. But I cannot, but I said that we cannot do that. That would be pre-emptive of me.

Q: What did Mr. President say to you after you gave him the report?
He said thank you very much well done.

Q: Are heads going to roll from your report?
How can I tell you what is in the report. You really want to know what is in the report! You really have to wait.

Skales dumped by his Ethiopian Girlfriend on Instagram, just a year after he dumped his Nigerian bae for her

In September 2016, Skales shocked his fans when he ended his relationship with his long time Nigerian girlfriend Sasay and quickly switched up to a beautiful Ethiopian lady known as Leyla Konjo.

At that time, friends of Sasay declared war with Skales on Twitter, but that didn't stop the rapper and singer from unveiling Leyla to his fans on Instagram. In his words: 'Just to clear the air this the special one am with @leyla_konjo.

But now the tables have turned, as Skales has now been dumped by his Ethiopian girlfriend who was nicknamed 'Mrs.Skales' by her followers.

Yesterday, Leyla posted a beautiful photo of herself and captioned it: "Instead of 'single' as a marital status, they should put 'independently owned and operated'. I'm already on the next one,"

When a fan dropped a comment to hype praises by calling her 'Mrs. Skales', a title she had adopted, Leyla immediately rebuked the title and demanded that she's addressed by her name, and has no more time for games.

Nigeria Ranks 3rd Globally In Cybercrime, Behind UK & U.S. – NCC

The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, says Nigeria currently ranks third globally in cybercrimes behind the UK and the U.S.

NCC's Chief Executive Officer, Umar Danbatta, disclosed this on Tuesday at the ongoing 2017 Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, in Lagos.

The News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, reports that the conference' theme is: "African Business:

Penetrating through Institution Building".

Mr. Danbatta, at a breakout session with the sub-theme: "The Business of Cyber Law, Internet Policy and Privacy Rights", moderated by Augustine Alegeh, a former NBA President, said the number of internet users in Nigeria has hit 91.6 million.

"About N127 billion was the estimated loss to cybercrime in Nigeria in 2015; Nigeria ranks third in global internet crimes behind the UK and U.S.

"A critical factor militating against Africa's economic resurgence is the weakness of its institutions.

"Nigeria ranks 169 out of 199 on the World Bank's ease of doing business rankings; we are in a middle of a revolution and the rise of what we call the networked society.

"The NCC stipulates the laws of engagement that will make the cyberspace safe and ensure the confidence as well as the safety of the cyberspace," Mr. Danbatta, a panellist, said.

"There are benefits and risks of the use of cyberspace and both has to be properly managed."
NAN reports that other panellists at the breakout session were Bayo Adekanmi, the Chief Transformation Officer of MTN and Ibikun Abidoye, the legal counsel of Chocolate City Group.

Others are Sascha Grimme, the Associate Solicitor of Cooley LLP, a UK-based Law firm; and Bisi Adebutu of Premier Lotto, also known as 'Baba Ijebu.'

In his remarks, Ms. Adebutu gave insight into the challenges Premier Lotto faced in conducting transactions on the cyberspace.

"Premier Lotto has moved from the streets to the internet, we have faced certain challenges including paying those who do business with us.

"The cyber laws are not favourable to our business; Premier Lotto ranks as the fourth most visited site in the country.

"We have no easy way of verifying or identifying the owner of cards used to transact business.

"In Nigeria, the business of giving is just emerging, and it is important that we respect the privacy of our clients when they interact with us through the use of usernames and passwords.

"Gaming is very popular on the internet and fraud is one to the challenges we have; if we apprehend an individual trying to perpetuate fraud, we block their access to us.

"We also have challenges of having to discipline offenders and the cyber laws have to be properly identified and implemented to appropriately punish offenders," Mr. Adebutu said.

In her contributions, Ms. Grimme said: "Threats and perpetrators of cybercrimes and the motives behind the cyber-attacks have to be properly identified.

"There are challenges in identifying perpetrators of cybercrimes; even when identified, there have been instances where they stay in different jurisdictions making prosecution difficult."

Mr. Adekanmi, while speaking, noted that there is an ongoing online revolution happening in modern times, and that online security was very important.

"There is going to be what I call a technology apocalypse, you will wake up one day and someone is living your life somewhere.

"Someone once said that identity theft is worse than kidnapping, there is a thin line between privacy and security in modern business," the MTN executive said.

On her part, Ms. Abiloye, who discussed copyright challenges in the nation's music industry, said the general perception of copyright is that its incentive is to encourage people to create.

"There is a public slant to copyright; there are a lot of cases about unfair use of copyright.
"In Nigeria, we have an endorsement culture and there have been instances where individuals use unauthorised images to promote a product.

"Internet and technology are moving at a pace faster than the music industry," she said.

During the session, Folake Solanke, the first female Senior Advocate of Nigeria, queried the MTN executive and NCC CEO on what actions the organisations were taking about unapproved phone charges as a result of unsolicited text messages.

Responding, Mr. Adekanmi said: "Somethings are beyond technology companies; we download a lot of free apps on our mobile phones.

"We get these apps for free but unknown to a lot of people, it is actually in exchange for our personal information which are then given to advertising companies."

The MTN executive, using the popular app Truecaller to buttress his point, said that the app has a large database of names and other personal information of users, which are accessed by third parties for advertising.

Mr. Danbatta, in response to Mr. Solanke's question, said the NCC launched a campaign on March 15 to provide a solution to unsolicited text messages.

"We have provided a facility to stop subscribers from receiving unsolicited text messages as well as a facility for subscribers, to subscribe to text messages.

"Send STOP to 2442 to unsubscribe to text messages; if the messages keep coming, dial 622 which is a toll-free number and the NCC will wade into the matter and ensure those messages stop," he said. (NAN)

Prophet TB Joshua Allegedly Transforms ‘Woman’ To Man (See Photos)

Prophet TB Joshua has been known to reportedly 'heal' deadly diseases and deformities, offer financial aid to the needy both within and outside his church, and also release prophesies about things that will happen around the world.

His recent feat however involves a former transgender woman who reverted back to being a man while the prophet was ministering during a recent crusade.

According to reports shared on Facebook by the preacher's official page, the young man named Antonio Caceres, had been living as a transgender for years, before 'help' came to him in the form of his sister who prayed ceaselessly for his 'condition' to change.

Antonio was just seven years old when he first realised a growing affection for the males in his classroom. He tried to shelve the nauseating urge by playing sports and engaging in predominantly 'masculine' activities.

The young boy soon began stealing his sister's underwear and wearing it at whim, buoyed by a strange form of guilty pleasure. His first full-blown homosexual encounter came at the tender age of 11. It was downhill from there.

"When I was 18, I went onto the streets," the Paraguayan explained. It was the beginning of ten years in which Antonio would change his name, identity and – almost – his gender.

Dressed in seductively tight female clothing, pumped with feminine hormones to remove body hair and develop breasts, cars with male occupants would stop to pick him up every night.

Drug-fuelled, drunken orgies became the norm, to the shady extent that Antonio could not even remember who he had been with the previous night or what he had done.

Tears flowed as witnesses came forward to explain that all their lives, they had known Antonio as a woman. "God has restored back to us what the devil had stolen," his sister declared.

"If God has delivered me, there is no one He cannot deliver," Antonio advised. "If you are living the lifestyle I once lived, you may think it's normal but it's not; you need deliverance." Free indeed!

So President Buhari Met With Ojukwu Before His Death? See Photo & Video Evidence Of Their Meeting

The video has been uploaded via Buhari's official Twitter page, as arguments started all over social media, after he mentioned that he met Ojukwu in 2003.

In the clip, the two men are seen shaking hands, during the meeting that took place in the President's hometown of Daura.

"In 2003 after I joined partisan politics, the late Chief Emeka Ojukwu came and stayed as my guest in my hometown Daura. Over two days we discussed in great depth till late into the night and analyzed the problems of Nigeria.

We both came to the conclusion that the country must remain one and united.

"Nigeria's unity is settled and not negotiable. We shall not allow irresponsible elements to start trouble and when things get bad they run away and saddle others with the responsibility of bringing back order, if necessary with their blood," Buhari had said during his nationwide broadcast on Monday.

Some Nigerians were not convinced the meeting happened and felt it was all propaganda.
